Microchipping
Always There Pet Care can provide microchipping for your pet using Pet Detect Microchips. For just £18 your pet will be permanently identified for its lifetime. The procedure involves implanting a microchip under the skin by injection.
The chip is a tiny, glass capsule the size of a grain of rice. It contains the identification number linking you to your pet.
It works by being scanned by a small hand-held scanner which detects the microchip number. This number is registered with PetLog, the national central database run by the Kennel Club. Vets, rescue centre staff, and dog wardens have scanners so lost or stolen pets can be reunited with their owners.
It is implanted under the skin between the shoulder blades. It takes a few seconds to do. A PetLog registration form has to be completed and then your pet is registered for its lifetime. All scanners can read Pet Detect microchips.
If you have travel plans abroad your pet must have a microchip in order to comply with the regulations.
